The band is called GOOD2GO and comprises a handful of dudes and their impossible-to-miss front woman Maureen Hogan. She’s got chops and a ballsy attitude about the men who have done her wrong. Her stage persona is large, but don’t confuser her hammy side for a lack of talent. The gal – a teacher with the Ottawa School Board by day- can sing. She really hit a high note with the release of her fifth album “C’mon”. It shows a band moving from early punk influences into a blues-rock sound that amplifies Hogan’s breathy, heart achin’ voice, bringing to mind Patsy Cline and Dusty Springfield (Ottawa Magazine, Dayanti Karunaratne).

We’re a four piece country band – acoustic guitar, chicken pickin’ electric, bass and drums. Lots of harmonies and funny lyrics. Slo’ Tom and the Handsome Devils formed around 2009 and our album “Musta  Been a Pretty Good Night!” was released in October 2012. Our 2013 album “I’m Sick” received rave reviews and we had a song chosen by the Ottawa Citizen as one of the Top Ten releases of 2013. Good times!

The group is noted for its extravagant live performances featuring sumptuous five-part harmonies, theatrical choreography and colourful visuals. The PepTides’ songs juxtapose upbeat music with lyrics that comment on far-reaching themes like love, hate, revenge, sex, religion, war—and getting ready for dates. The PepTides is an eclectic community of musicians with a rainbow of identities: girls and guys, gay and straight, English and French, black and white and in between, Ukrainian, Mexican, Guyanese, Cree, Acadian, Armenian and Scottish.

TBWNIS has been performing and recording for the past 8 years and have released 12 vinyl only LPs. The combined membership of their outfit have collectively been playing music for 100s of years and released umpteen dozens of albums. (TBWNIS sounds like Hawkwind meets Acid Mothers Temple with Krautrock, progressive and middle-eastern tones) In March 2016, the group released their 10th LP “Live 2010 Dominion Tavern” issued on Drone Rock Records out of the UK. In July of 2016, a three record box was released on Cardinal Fuzz, comprising 3 re-mastered albums from the bands oop back catalog. In December 2016, “Elevator” album was released with 150 copies of the 350 run featuring a bonus 1 hour studio improv containing 4 pieces entitled “Symbol Ensemble”.

Leslie Rohonczy is a Canadian composer, recording artist, and vocal and performance coach, with professional experience in a wide range of musical genres. In 2012, Leslie released debut album “Sister Seven”, a varied collection of original songs. In October 2014, Leslie released her second album, “Down From the Ether”. She released her third album “Qualia” in the Fall of 2016, and is currently working on her fourth album, featuring 12 new songs. Leslie has twelve years of Royal Conservatory training in piano and music theory, has played the baritone saxophone and flute, is a certified Integral Coach™ specializing in performance & vocal coaching, professional voice-over artist and studio vocalist.

A survivor of the 1970’s disco boom, Elorious Cain has a reputation of spinning an uncommon variety of new genres with ease. According to Jennifer Hartley in Ottawa Life Magazine “Cain is the eclectic and effervescent DJ who has trained some of the world’s most renowned DJs but who himself thankfully refuses to take his groove away from the Capital”.  His show “The Groove” is often called “CKCU’s flagship disco show”.  It remains as much a current source of discotheque music as it has for the last 38 years.
