ABOUT LAZZY LUNG

Lazzy Lung is a visceral, unapologetic force in indie rock—born in the chaos and beauty of Beirut’s underground scene and now thriving in the wide-open landscapes of Dunrobin, Ontario. Fronted by Ottawa-native Allan Chaaraoui, the band first made noise in the early 2010s with their explosive debut Strange Places, and they’ve been carving their path ever since—raw, relentless, and unfiltered.

Then came Swim the Tide (2018), a poignant turn inward—written during Chaaraoui’s mother’s cancer battle, blending stripped-down folk textures with the band’s signature grit. Its release, however, collided with a perfect storm: the total collapse of the Lebanese economy, the eruption of the 2019 protest movement, and the global shutdown of the 2020 pandemic.

In the wake of the 2020 Beirut port explosion, Chaaraoui returned to Canada—displaced but determined. Rebuilding from the ground up, he assembled a formidable new lineup: Minty on drums, Craig on lead guitar, and Andrew on bass. Together, they reignited Lazzy Lung with sharpened focus and renewed fire. Rooted in resilience and purpose, the band turned tragedy into action—donating performance fees and merch sales to the Lebanese Red Cross and continuing to use their platform to uplift, confront, and connect.

With a new record, No Hard Feelings, on the horizon, Lazzy Lung enters their next chapter louder, leaner, and more intentional than ever.
